This paper would like to see some aspects of the dakwah Nur movement in Indonesia requiring the realization of the principle of the concept of community: upholding the values of monotheism (monotheistic worldview), which covers aspects related to faith relationship with God who made the universe and its contents as a manifestation verses and His greatness; uphold ethical values spiritual (ethical/ aesthetic spirituality); emancipation; democratic participation (participatory democracy); communication and dialogue; modern-traditional integration; confidence or self-reliance; fraternity (brotherhood ), and non-violence. As the movement to spread the ideas Said Nursi, this movement also uses the patterns of social movements such as: a. The structure of opportunity, in this case developing strong networking and communication between members of the group to maintain continuity, the form of informal and unstructured interaction; b. Mobilization structures, either through dershane, form institutions or foundations; c . Frame culture, the adaptation process in selecting an acceptable mode of the movement to get members and the wider community.
Nur movement with a communitarian approach, strengthen the Communitarian theories that have been constructed by Hamid Mowlana and Wilson (1990), Majid Tehranian (1989), AF Bakti (2004), and Amitai Etzioni (1993). The concept of the Nur movement spread da’wah Nursi thought in Indonesia also strengthen the the theory that Peter built Mandaville (2009) which states that transnational Islamic movements in South Asia charitable organization and dakwah Organizations. This paper also strengthen the the theory of social movements and Glenn E. Quintan Wiktorowicz Robinson (2004).
Majid Tehranian in his a book Global Communication and World Politics, Domination, Development, and Discourse, stated that emphasizes communitarian concept of centralized political community that maintained peace at the local, national, regional and global. Thus the normative value of community needs guidance to be followed and require building institutions for economic improvement, political, and cultural integrity. Equation with this paper is the concept of the importance of normative values guide, which Nur movement is a text- oriented movement/ faith-based text movements. The Text in the Risalah Nur , as a normative guide movement and to lead a good community (khaira ummah) . Other authors, Amita Etzioni on The Spirit of Community, Rights, Responsibilities, and the Communitarian Agenda, stated that the concept of communitarian needs people and leaders who have good morals to manage messages to the social movements can result in a substantial change. Equation with this paper is the emphasis of this movement on building character (akhlak), of which the concept Hizmet (service) is the principle that life is devotion, sincerity, and brotherhood.
